Take me to Jonah Rocks!

Dear Fans,
Its been an amazing (and exhausting) past few weeks for us. The Toxicity vid went absolutely crazy viral with a million views in a few short days. We were not expecting this to happen, and neither we nor our webmaster were prepared for it. The vid comments went through the roof. We were unable to keep up with them. We approved each comment, to sift out the stuff that shouldn’t be there, like the “see [some celebrity] naked, click here” stuff. That does not belong on a vid of a child. The website was getting a million hits a day and and emails through it were out of control; actually filled up the MSN account. This was beginning to consume us.

So, we needed to make some changes. We have a family to raise, and that must come first. We have careers, and Jonah is more than just a drummer, he’s a little boy who deserves to be a little boy. Playing drums is only a small part of who he is. In efforts to get back on track, we have enlisted the help of an online company via our webmaster to take control of all this for us. We also needed to streamline things, so we will no longer be able to have vid comments activated. We are truly sorry for this, as we loved reading all the wonderful things you guys had to say. But, as already stated, our family must come first. And to have someone else approving comments, well, its just not the same now, is it? But rest assured, we do read the channel comments.

We also will only be featuring a few vids at a time. Due to all the theft of the vids, the traffic dramatically increased, and it was causing issues with both the YouTube channel and the website. Also remember, Jonah picks his songs, and he decides what vids he wants up, and a lot of the old ones, well he doesn’t want them up anymore. We need to respect his decision.

When we put up the very first vid, 1 ½ years ago, we never ever, in our wildest dreams, thought it would turn into what it did! We just wanted to share with everyone how cool it was that our little Jonah was so awesome on the drums. And this holds true today. We make no money off of this, and do not intend to. Same goes for TV appearances. Jonah will not be making any. We have been invited to have Jonah on so many programs, and have chosen to decline the invitations. Jonah is too little. He plays the drums, and once he is expected to play for someone, its no longer playing, is it?

So please, continue to watch and enjoy Jonah’s videos! He enjoys “making a YouTube” as much as we all enjoy watching them.

Thanks so much for watching and supporting Jonah. He truly has the best fan base in the world!

Sincerely,
Mom & Dad Rocks
